The pieces of this set were inspired by the structure of Japanese inroes, the traditional medicine boxes, and were named after Japanese cities.

The rigid geometrical elements are made of solid silver and ebony, which I covered with an accurately knotted fine material made out of Japanese glass beads.Several of these elements can spin around entertaining their owners with playful movements.

The beads come in a great variety of colours and the striped and dotted, matte and shiny surfaces remind us of sunbathing lizards and bright rosebugs. The knotted bead “dresses” were made by Mariann Hegedűs.

The series was selected for the final exhibition of the competition for the Hungarian Design Award 2009, and won the special prize of the 7th Goldsmith Biennale.
