JEWELLERY WITH STONES

1998-2011

The purpose of this continuously expanding series is to match stones of various shapes in unusual and surprising ways. I’m not interested in traditional goldsmith stone setting techniques. I like to build jewellery by creating textile-like, moving structures.. My intention is to use a rich array of stones and bold combinations of colours. The translucent stones result in an interesting play of light; the homogeneous cubes (of various colours) produce a mosaic effect. I would like to make these pieces to be fun to wear with the moving silver parts, the rotating agate disks, and the play of the stone spheres attached with hanging chains. The earliest pieces of the series were supported by the Kozma Lajos Craft and Design Scholarship.

All objects are wax-cast in 935%° silver.
